High school sports: Track and field (Class 2A six-time state champion in distance running); 2 Time - Nike National All-American in steeplechase; basketball (guard-forward); and cross country (fourth in 3A past two seasons Emma Coburn set the track on fire in the Spring of 2007. After coming off an incredible basketball season, Emma went to work on the track starting in late March. Emma ran the 5th fastest High School American Steeple Chase time and took 4th overall at Nike Outdoor Nationals to become the 1st High School All American in the Gunnison Valley. Emma went from a 2:21 - 2:14 in the 800m as well. Emma's plan is to go after the American record this spring in the steeple which she will need to improve 11 seconds after only running the race twice. 1500m: 4:21

Class: Senior. My favorite subject: History. My favorite athlete: My big sister, Gracie, who made me go out and do sports.

My favorite team: Colorado Buffaloes in all sports. What I listen to: A mix of anything and everything. The best thing on my training table: Cereal. Pregame ritual: I just go play or run after having my warm-up done. Time management tip: I don't even know how I get it done; my parents help out by supporting me with everything. Planned career: Business; signed with CU for cross country and track. My family: Parents Annie and Bill, sister Gracie, brothers Joe and Willy. I would love to visit: London in 2012 for The Olympics. What I like most about high school sports: The competition is so intense. I love my teammates and putting in hard work and seeing benefits come out of it. That's what is really cool and exciting. What I like least about high school sports: I have loved it all, but one bummer is living in such a tiny town in the mountains. Everything is a four- to five-hour trip.
