After coming off an incredible basketball season, Emma went to work on the track starting in late March. Emma ran the 5th fastest High School American Steeple Chase time and took 4th overall at Nike Outdoor Nationals to become the 1st High School All American in the Gunnison Valley. Emma went from a 2:21 - 2:14 in the 800m as well. Adam Lenz,
Flourished in his 1 1/2 year stint in Crested Butte, Colorado under Coach Sanderson Tutelage
Lenz, who is from Mount Pillar, Indiana came to Crested Butte Academy to possible further his career in running at the next level. Adam had showed up with a couple of minor set backs with shin issues on his arrival to Colorado.
With Adam's workethic and drive ran himself into almost a near full scholarship to Mississippi State University and became a 2007 High School All-American in the process.
"Before the Great American Invite, he was just a runner trying for a scholarship," Sanderson said. "After his finish, he has a lot of schools interested in him. He is just a great kid, really down to earth. He has really blossomed this season as runner.

Jack Linehan has become the star in the entire Gunnison valley when it comes to athletics. Living at 9000ft of elevation for most of his life has developed Jack into an amazing athlete and competitor. Jack lead his soccer team in stats to a 7 and 2 record this fall and has not yet began his incredible track season this winter.

Jack sky rocketed in the state last year with his 40 second improvement in the mile and according to Sanderson his skills are incredible going into his senior year.


Went from 5:04.32 to 4:32.67 in 6 weeks! 2008 Track Season (at elevation)

Jack has what it takes to run at the Division I level. Jack has skills that can not be taught at the next level and he is getting more and more mental tuff for the next level.

Jack is also in the National Honor Society and is a Honor student at the Crested Butte Community School. According to Sanderson Jack will make a top program at the next level very happy in the near future. Jack reminds me of one of my former athletes Chas Salmon, who became the team Captain at Duke University and a Rhode Scholar as well for Duke.
Jack has the ability to become a great miler! He has the ability to run 1:50 at sea level, and 4:10 for the mile!
